19thc Oak Bookcase

An unusual little bookcase with folding door, adjustable shelving standing on bun feet. The fielded panel door is hinged in the middle by a pair of wonderfully shaped and engraved brass hinges enabling the door to fold back or open fully to reveal the two adjustable shelves. The shaped top makes another shelf for books or display with a removable decorative pediment that has a carved patera. Circa 1840
